Origin of the word
The word Bible comes from the Greek word biblia meaning "books". It is a collection of many books which form the fondation of Christian belief. Admittedly they have been written by a large number of authors, known and unknown but those authors are believed to have been inspired by God and they wrote the books under the supervision and guidance of God. Hence, the Bible is referred to as The Word of God. The Catholic Bible, however, is somewhat different from the Protestant Bible. The former consist s of 73, while the latter has only 66 books.
